Obituary of Yonsal Fatir Shabazz

Yonsal Fatir Shabazz, was born December 17, 1984 to Farah B. Shabazz, I and Cynthia Shabazz in Salem, New Jersey. He was a longtime resident of Williamstown, New Jersey, and attended Williamstown High School. He played on the team's football team, and enjoyed many other sports. He leaves to cherish his loving brother, Farah B. Shabazz, II, sister Thelada K. Thompson (Brian A. Thompson), brother Brian Northrop of Pennsgrove (and children), brother Yusef Caldwell of Delaware (and children), grandmother Ada L. Nixon of Woodstown, and four nieces, Haley Hill, Maya Shabazz, Brianna Thompson, Ava Thompson, and his very good friend Jonathan Wilson. He was predeceased by his grandmother Mary Francis Sorrell, grandfather Clarence Owens, grandfather Lewis Eugene Nixon, and great-grandmother Thelma Sorrell. Yonsal leaves behind a host of other family and friends, special Aunt Brenda Lewis, and great Aunt Cynthia Sorrell who made his favorite white potato pie. Yonsal was our "gentle giant". He was kind and soft spoken. He loved his family, and was adored by those that knew him most. He was an incredibly intelligent young man, and extremely gifted in music, and excellent at dancing. At a young age, he began producing his own music. He loved to attend concerts and took pride in always looking and dressing well. He loved to sing, lift weights and was always reading either the Holy Bible or the Holy Quran, of which his name was derived (Fatir-"The Originator). He was an amazing young man, and we are joyous that he is finally free. Rest in paradise
