Obituary
Watson Robertson Parks, age 62, entered into Eternity on December 5th 2016. Watson was born October 26, 1954 in Scarborough Tobago to Virginia Parks (deceased) and Cyril Parks (deceased). He attended Scarborough Methodist School. He then worked over 17 years with the Works Department in Scarborough Tobago as an electrician, which allowed him to work at the president's quarters, which he enjoyed very much. In Tobago, Watson was very active in sports, he loved basketball and tennis. He, his brother Calvin, and some friends started a well-known basketball team called The Hill Bouncers.
Watson migrated to Canada in 1990 which he spent some years. He then moved to the United States in 2002 to reunite with his longtime girlfriend, which soon after became his wife. Watson and Joycelyn started a retail business in the Gallery mall in center city Philadelphia, and then in the Franklin Mills Mall, which lead to their current business in the Reading Terminal Market. During that time they also started a real estate business with several rental properties. Watson always said the sky is the limit, so he always reached for the stars. Anyone that knew Watson knew he was the type of man that took care of his family first. He always wanted everyone to come together, mainly why he pushed for family reunions, so we knew our family roots. He was very well respected amongst his friends and business associates because of the way he conducted himself. To be around him and have a brief conversation, he made you want to work harder and be a better you!
Watson leaves behind to cherish his wonderful memories, his loving devoted wife Joycelyn Parks of 14 years; they were together a total of 42 years. His loving daughters, Nekesa Parks, Jamila Parks, and Akilah McClechi-Alfred. He also leaves behind 7 brothers, (Robert, Henry, Andrew, Lenox, Carlton, Calvin, and Lawrence) 5 sisters, (Doreen, Angela, Edith, Donna, Audrey, and Annette) 3 grandsons, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving relatives and friends. He will be greeted in heaven by his Mother, Father, and his sister Barbara.
