Rev. Dr. Mother Eugenia Elaine Lindsey Wilcox Obituary Eugenia Elaine Lindsey Wilcox was born on February 16, 1945, in the city of Camden, New Jersey. She was the oldest of seven siblings. She was born to the late Daniel Hannah and former and late Mother Branches Lindsey. She transitioned from this life on Sunday, September 1, 2024. In her youth, Eugenia was educated in the Camden City Public School System up to the seventh grade. She was forced to drop out of school due to pregnancy. Moreover years later after birthing and while raising four children and being married, she resiliently resumed her education by earning General Education Diploma, GED, and various college degrees: In June 1973, she received her Associate In Science degree from Camden County College; In May 1975, she received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Glassboro State College, now the Rowan University; In May 1983, she received her Masters of Education degree from Rutgers University; In June 1995, she received her Doctor of Divinity from Jameson Christian College. On February 18, 1967, Eugenia was united in holy matrimony to Warren D. Wilcox, Sr., which was performed by Elder Moses Walton. She brought into this union three beautiful young children: Tonette, Daniel, and Leland. During this union, Eugenia and Warren birthed Warren Jr. Years after her birth children were grown and out of the house, Eugenia graciously and lovely adopted two sets of brothers: William, Elijah, Steven, Terry, and Demetrious. Eugenia began her career as an educator as an intern at the Archway School in Atco, New Jersey. She also was an educator for years in the Camden City School system at Hatch Middle School. Eugenia had a passion for teaching young people. This was a tremendous full circle accomplishment for her i.e. having to drop out of middle during her seventh grade at Hatch Middle School due to pregnancy and then returning year later as a bachelor and master degreed teacher. And she taught for years as an English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher for the Camden County educational system. She also had a passion for teaching non-English speaking students the English language. Eugenia grew up in a God-fearing and God-loving family. She was a faithful member at the Victory Temple Community COGIC in Camden, N.J. under the leadership of the Late Superintendent Charles E. Giddins, Sr. She later became a faithful member at the Holy Temple COGIC in Philadelphia, Pa. under the leadership of the Late Bishop O. T. Jones, Jr. She served as an active member at her local churches in many capacities. In the summer of 1984, Eugenia was consecrated as an Evangelist Missionary during the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Annual Holy Convocation’s ordination and licensing service under the leadership of the late Bishop O.T. Jones, Jr. In January 2002, Eugenia was appointed as the Church Mother of The Dunamis Life Cathedral COGIC in Camden County, New Jersey under the leadership of her beloved youngest son, the Superintendent Warren D. Wilcox II, M. Div. Mother Wilcox was a founding & faithful member of Dunamis Life Cathedral COGIC. She lovely and faithfully as an active member at DLC and Better Life Chapel COGIC until the end of her days on earth. She also led weekly Bible Study groups at the senior apartment complex where she resided, Barrington Mews and Harvest House. Eugenia leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved two sisters: Lois Butler and Juanita Coston; her cherished two brothers: Bruce Coston and David Coston, Jr.; her birthed children: Tonette Lindsey-Burns, The Rev. Dr. Daniel L. Lindsey, Sr. (Robin), Leland S. Wilcox, and The Rev. Dr. Warren D. Wilcox II (Rev. Saki); her grandchildren: Abdul Lindsey, Eugene Lindsey, Danielle Lindsey-Miranda, Daniel L. Lindsey, Jr., LeShawn Selby, Tisa Selby, LeRon Selby, Leah Williams, Leland Williams, Desmond, Tiffany Baker, Tamera Baker, Sean, Leland, Niara Wilcox, Warren D. Wilcox III, and Victoria Wilcox; her 58 great-grandchildren; her 24 great-great grandchildren; her five (5) adopted sons and a host of many other family and friends.
