Obituary of Doris Jean Johnson

Doris Jean Johnson was born on November 29, 1946 to the late Julia Elizabeth
Ray Thomas in Camden NJ. Doris was raised by the late Reverend Archie H. Harris Sr. and Doris Ward.
Doris attended Cooper’s Point Elementary School, Pine Point Middle School and went on to attend Woodrow Wilson High School. After graduating, she attended Camden County College and remained on the Dean’s list throughout her time there.
Doris entered the workforce, working at General Hospital in Lakeland, NJ for three years. She then moved on to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital as a Nursing Assistant where she retired after 35 years of dedicated service. Doris also worked part time at Campbell Soup Company where she met and later married Oscar R. Johnson Jr. on June 21,1986.
Doris dedicated her life to Christ at an early age and later became a member of
Saints’ Memorial Community Church, where she served on the Senior Choir, under the direction of Brother Clearance Fletcher and Sister Bert Weaver, Pas-tor’s Aide, and Nurses Unit, Wednesday Bible Brunch, and a loyal member of the Women’s Ministry.
Doris leaves to cherish her memory; her daughter Shirl Pollock, (Michael) of Willingboro, sons: Michael Davis (Michelle) of Westville, Bryant Davis (Tracie) of Mt. Laurel. She also leaves Richard Johnson of Philadelphia, Bradford Johnson (Rafeeqah) of Philadelphia, Oscar Johnson III (deceased), Dale Johnson (Heidi) of Germany, Todd Johnson (Rhonda) of Philadelphia, Robin Johnson-Holder (Jesse) of Philadelphia. Grand children: Clee (deceased), Nyla (deceased), Jean-ette, Bria, Keschman, Little Mike, Tarika, Shamira, Slammer, Michael Jr., Charles, Dale Jr, James, Janel, Todd Jr, Dorey, Kimberly, Oscar IV, Raquel, Bar-ry, Bradford Jr., Omar, Aisha, Amar, Brandon, Kareem, Thaon, Patrice, Brianna, Aliyah, Tyrese Johnson, Cory. Great grandchildren: Khalil, Karrina, Ameer, and Aniyah. Many special nieces and nephews as well as a host of extended family and friends.
Special mention to Mae Searles-Martin who was Doris’s best friend/sister for 64 years.
Doris also leaves to mourn her most loved and cherished Oreo Cookie King John-son. (Yorkie)
Doris is the last of a generation and we will greatly miss her but hold loving memories deeply in our hearts.
