Obituary of Carey Thomas

Carey Thomas was born on October 30, 1953, in Darlington County, South Carolina. He was
the seventh child and youngest son of the late Arthur Thomas, Jr and Bessie L. Thomas.
On Saturday, November 2nd, 2024; Carey unexpectedly transitioned from his earthly home in
Burlington, New Jersey to eternal rest.
Carey had several occupations during his lifetime. He was most proud of the 23 years he served in the U.S. Air Force. He earned the rank of Master Sergeant and served as a Load Master. In 1993, Carey was honorably discharged from the military after serving and surviving 5 wars including Vietnam. He was determined to live for his children and his country through God’s Grace. His greatest accomplishment was being the owner/operator of his own lawn care service, “Lawn Master”.
Carey was a loving father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle, who will be greatly missed by the many lives he touched both young and old.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, three brothers: Franklin Thomas, Dennis Thomas, Robert Thomas and all his aunts and uncles.
Love ones left to cherish his memories are: daughters Corey (Roderick) Patton, Dorian Thomas, Tara (Greg) McCray, Renell (John) Pisanelli; son Eric Brown; Grandchildren, Duke Wilson, Jauron Patton, ZaTashia (Khadijah) Byrd, Jarrodrick Byrd, Anjanea Robinson, Shonell Pisanelli, Jonell Pisanelli, Jordin Pisanelli, 3 great-grandchildren, sisters and brother, Hazel Walker, Edgar (Leona) Thomas, Diane (James) Brown, Queenie (Samuel) Lyons; sister-in-laws, Mable Thomas and Minnie Thomas; a companion, Patricia Ricasner, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family invites friends and relatives to pay their respects at Christian Faith Assembly, located at 810 Marne Hwy, Hainesport, NJ. The viewing will be held on Friday, November 15th from 9-10 AM. A prayer service will be held after the viewing from 10:30AM-12PM. After which Carey will be laid to rest with full Military Honors at William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
