Celebrating The Life Of Shamika C. Johnson
Shamika Capri Johnson was born December 31, 1993, in Camden, NJ to Charles Williams and Alisha Johnson. She was educated in the Camden City School System. Attending: Yorkship, Morgan Village, Woodrow Wilson & Freedom Prep, to name a few. She was a proud graduate of YouthBuild Class of 2012 graduating at the top of her class as Valedictorian.
In 2010 Mika experienced a life turning event welcoming her first born son Naiquan. Although Mika was young, she didn’t let it define her, but it helped to develop her character and her drive to accomplish more with her son as her newfound motivation. A few years later she welcomed her 2nd oldest Andrew, then Shawn and Karter.
Mika started her first job at 16 working at McDonalds, she started her career in the nursing field as a Certified Nursing Assistant. During this time, she helped to care for her grandmother Ms. Karen Lee. As the first grandchild she was crazy about her grandmother. She developed an excellent work ethic & became a workaholic. She left the nursing field and got into the transportation industry after receiving her commercial driver's license. She started her transportation career with first student then after gaining experience she finished off as a dispatch with Easton Coach.
Shamika was the definition of a go getter. Anything she wanted for herself she went out there and got it for her and her boys. Shamika was a family person, anything involving family she was there. She was especially Known For her infectious smile and her contagious laugh. She was strong willed & outspoken, but don’t let her start talking her trash she would go on all day. She was real, and raw with no filter, but that was her way of expressing her love. Though her life was short lived she made it her first priority to travel with her boys and show up to family occasions.
She had a Special bond with her uncle George (PDG) Johnson, and aunts Mooka & Charday, they held a unique place in her heart.
On Tuesday, November 19, 2024, Shamika suddenly passed away. This has left all those who loved her with an aching void. She was a great mother, sister, daughter, aunt and niece, cousin and friend. During her time on earth she has touched many people impacting their lives and leaving unforgettable memories of her sweetness and love.
She is preceded in death by her grandmother Dorothy Johnson: her uncle Richard (Stacey) Williams, Aunt Patricia (Trisha) Johnson, & Cousin Tysheema Johnson.
