Jasper was one of the most special people in my life. I am blessed to have him cross my life path. He was my student and became an "adopted" son. God blessed him with a wonderful baritone voice and a beautiful spirit. I remember the day he told me that he accepted the Lord. What a marvelous day that was and then his new life truly began! God sustained him many years through a great illness and Jasper still continued to bless the lives of others.
One of greatest measures of our life is what we did with our dash (between our birth date and our home going date). Jasper did a great thing, as there are people in heaven because they crossed paths with him and there are many that he's left behind that went through a stormy season easier because he was there to support and encourage. It is what we do for Christ that will last.
Jasper sat on the Board of Trustees for Lion of Judah Restoration Ministries during the season when we opened D.U.E. Season Charter School. Though as the years passed and his purpose in God became more evident, I only spoke with him periodically, yet I loved him none the less. His memory will bless my life as long as God gives me breath.
Now I must surrender to the sovereign will of God and celebrate his home going. He is deserving of the rest. One of his favorite scriptures was Psalms 39:11, "Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but God delivers them out of them all". God has given him the ultimate deliverance rest in His bosom. I pray for the comfort of his mother, Joyce, his brother, Maurice, and other loved ones, family, and friends. We loved him greatly, but God loves him more. To God be the glory for the things He has done!

The angels in heaven rejoice on today for God has called home one of His own. You were a blessing my friend. Never to be forgotten. You had the voice of God's highest calling. Rest in Peace my Beloved. Never to cry anymore. I shall miss you desperately. The night has come, but JOY comes in the morning

How do I say goodbye to what we had?
The good times that made us laugh
Outweigh the bad.
I thought we'd get to see forever
But forever's gone away
It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.
I don't know where this road
Is going to lead
All I know is where we've been
And what we've been through.
If we get to see tomorrow
I hope it's worth all the wait
It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.
And I'll take with me the memories
To be my sunshine after the rain
It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.
And I'll take with me the memories
To be my sunshine after the rain
It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.
