To the family of Mary Simuel Curry:
I offer my condolences to the family on the passing Mary Simuel Curry. Mary and I were pioneering students at the Columbia School of Nursing in Columbia, SC. We broke new ground as nurses and enjoyed the journey becoming successful professionals caring for our patients. I offer this poem by Helen Senesch on Mary Simuel Curry transition.
"There are stars whose radiance is visible on earth though they have long been extinct.
There are people whose brilliance continues to light the world though they are no longer among the living.
These lights are particularly bright when the night is dark."
Mary your work is done on earth and now rest in peace.
