Mrs. Cropper & Family,
You won't recognize my name, but I was a Cumberland Co. Probation Officer (Juvenile Divison) in the late 70's and 80's. I came to know Roland, as I would visit Landis Jr. High School when he was Asst. Principal and we would speak on the phone frequently regarding kids we "had in common." I also would occasionally run into Roland around town and have a pleasant conversation. I was deeply saddened to hear of his passing. I knew, respected and liked Roland Cropper as an exemplary, caring school administrator and as a human being. He had that unique quality of making you feel better just for having known him. Roland was one of those relatively few people who definitely left this life better for others just for having been here. Although I had not seen him in some years, I will miss Roland, as I am sure that many others will, as well. My sincere condolences for your loss. I, for one, will remember him with a smile. God bless you and give you strength in this time of bereavement.
Sincerely,
Edward Dondero
