I am sorry that I am not able to be with you today.
The word 'loss' itself signifies the absence of something so dear, that nothing else in the world can replace it. The loss of Calvin’s life may bring feelings of emptiness and loneliness that seem to never cease. For his closest friends, family, his mother, his wife and children, moving on seems next to impossible. Every little thing will remind you of him. The best way to honor someone who is not with us anymore is to continue living our lives and to keep their memory alive through everyday events. Calvin would have wanted that, and expected nothing less. I promise you that that he will show the people that he loved, while he is with the lord, that the is watching over you. You will be reminded of him when you least expect it and especially when you need it the most. You may hear him in a song or see him in a sunset. When you have these reminders take comfort in them, slow down and take the time to savor that moment. When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure of priceless value that no one can ever take from you. We are grieving the loss of Calvin’s life today, but not the loss of Calvin because he will always be with us.
I know that it’s hard, but it will get better. You are all in my prayers. Thank god for Calvin and the time that we had with him was a blessing.
Sorrowfully,
Alisa Lancaster
