Mahoganee Ashante’ Gunter was born on November 29, 1998 to Chantrell and Victor Gunter at Rancocas Hospital in Willingboro, New Jersey. (Currently Lourdes Medical Center) Mahoganee was raised on Hamilton Avenue in Willingboro, New Jersey.
Mahoganee attended elementary school in the Willingboro School District and High School at the BCIT (Burlington County Institute of Technology) Westampton New Jersey. Mahoganee would have graduated June of 2017 from BCIT. She loved to draw and was a talented artist. Mahoganee was a major in advertising and design at BCIT. She wanted to further her college education in advertising and design and also history. (And Nikki Minaj’s #1 fan). Mahoganee loved music. She loved spending time with her special friends and her best friend, her sister, Mariah.
Mahoganee peacefully transitioned from this life to eternal life on Sunday, August 21, 2016.
Mahoganee decided to be a gift of life donor when she received her driver’s permit. She told her mother that she wanted to be a donor to bless other people’s lives if anything happened to her.
Mahoganee was preceded in death by her grandfather, Robert Arnold Pettus, her aunt, Jacqui T. Pettus, and her uncle Derrick Pettus.
Mahoganee leaves to cherish her memory and celebrate her life, her loving mother and father, Chantrell and Victor Gunter; her brother Donte’ Benns; her sisters, Mariah and Victoria Gunter; her grandmother Linda Pettus; her grandmother Patricia Sims; her grandfather Adjuster L. Sims; Uncle Lindsey (Nicole) Gunter; aunts Stacey Pettus, Patricia Gunter, Mary Gunter, Jeanetta Smith, special cousins, Telaiya, Taquorie, Tenaisia GenWright, Hakim Theresa, James Spiehs, Dominique Wilson, Lindsey Jr and Colby Gunter, David Booker, Haneef Parrot, Dkir Robinson, Mahdi (Gerilyn) Pettus, Dashon Kirby, Charmesia Pettus, Latoya Jones, and her Special Grandmother Marlyn Benns, her two God-mothers Nyree Reed and Jeanetta Smith (aunt), her God-sister Dasia Sheppard and a host of cousins, family, and friends.
