Gerald Wayne Butler, Sr., was born on July 5, 1965 in Gouldtown, New Jersey to Pearlene O’Conner and the late Herbert Preston Nichols. He was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 25, 2016.
Gerald was also known as “Thumper” to his family, and friends. He attended Bridgeton High School, and he was employed at Service Tire Truck Services for over 20 years. He enjoyed riding with his crew “Ruff and Ready” (Yellow), playing dominoes, cards, and etc. with his brothers, and his boys. He loved watching karate movies, shooting pool, and spending time with his family. Gerald especially enjoyed his time with his children and grandchildren. He leaves to cherish his memories: His Mother Pearlene O’Conner, A loving Father figure John O’Conner. A lifetime companion Joan Bailey, three daughters: Shantell Butler of Savannah, GA, Tracy Bailey of Millville, NJ, Michelle Bailey of Vineland, NJ. Five sons: Gerald Wayne Butler, Jr., of Vineland, NJ, Dorian Butler of Vineland, NJ, Karon Evans of Millville, NJ, Corey Cornesh of Vineland, NJ, and Anthony Bailey of Newark, NJ. He has two Goddaughters: Nigeria Brown and Nedia Harvey of Virginia. Gerald had two sisters: Patricia Brown (Herman) of Bridgeton, NJ and Debra Green, nine brothers: Zebedie Stubbs (Ruth), Ronald Lamar, Melvin Lamar, Reginald Butler (Felicia) Randy Butler (Nikki), Jerry Nichols, Herbert Nichols, Michael Nichols and Steve Nichols, Thirteen (13) Grandchildren: Demetrius Bailey, Jamie Bailey, Shaniya Victor, Gerald Butler, III, Gerahyah Butler, Ry’Zir White, The’Ajah Nock, Zy’Liyah Nock, James Downing, Ny’Asia Schaffer, Joella Ortiz, Josiah Cornish, Jabril Butler, Three (3) Great Grandchildren: Amir Roberts, Chanel Pellecier, Azarion Williams (Hollering Jack).
He also leave to cherish his memories with his loving Aunt Barbara Thompson and Uncle Douglas Butler and a host of aunts, uncles, cousin, nieces and nephews along with friends.
Gerald was predeceased by both sets of grandparents, his granddaughter Ja”Shiyah “Gerlynn” Butler, his niece Felicia Butler, and many other loved ones.
