I was just lying in bed on this beautiful Sunday morning in South Carolina and thought about my friend, Lavinia. I googled her name to try to contact her, and this earth shattering notice is what I found. Although we lost contact through our many moves, I loved her like a sister. This is a lesson to me to keep the people you care about close to you. I loved her offbeat, intellectual sense of humor. She kept me laughing at her "out of nowhere" hilarious comments and I have fond memories of the time we spent together. She was a beautiful, kind and gentle soul and I am extremely saddened and heart broken to find that she is no longer with us. My deepest, heartfelt sympathy and prayers go out to her family and friends.

I'm sorry for the loss of your loved one, but try to think of her as sleeping. John 5:28, says, "The hour is coming when all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out." So for now she is resting.

I am so sorry to hear of Lavinia's passing. She and I graduated high school together and were in touch for many years after. I have fond memories of shopping trips, of movies, of her pride in her first apartment at Hunter's Glen, and she was my "special" maid of honor at my wedding. I remember how much she loved my grandfather clock; we would joke about how I would leave it to her in my will. I'm happy now that I made the decision to make it a living bequest and gave her the clock back in 1990. Her pride in it was enormous; I knew how much she loved it. Although we weren't in touch in recent years, I am happy to have such fond memories of such a sweet soul. -- Lucille VanDusen (mrshvd3@mailbolt.com)
