Obituary of Bishop Lawrence O. Johnson
BISHOP DR. LAWRENCE O. JOHNSON, SR. The beloved husband of Apostle Karen Johnson, presiding Bishop of the Christian Love Church ,prelate of the Kingdom Connection Fellowship of Churches and minister for over 30 years, transitioned to glory on Friday, December 29, 2017. He was 57.
Bishop Johnson was hospitalized on December 17th, after he was critically injured after being hit by a car, while crossing the street. The hero he always was became more evident on this particular day as he pushed his loving wife out of harm’s way so that she would not be injured. After enduring much pain and fighting a good fight, it was time for Bishop to take his rest.
Bishop adored his family, loved making others smile, serving the community, and being a Chaplin of the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 81. He will forever be remembered for his infectious personality and special gift of bestowing love and laughter.
He leaves to cherish his unforgettable memories his wife of 37 years Apostle Karen Johnson, four children, Lauren (Michael Jr.) Bull of Clayton, NJ, Karen (RayMoan Sr.) Johnson-Willingham of Williamstown, NJ, Sargent Lawrence II (Tajiannah) of Okinawa, Japan, and Karl (Brandi) of Williamstown, NJ; These unions have added nine wonderful grandchildren; Robert, Anayah, Katelin, Michael III, Moriah, Lorenzo, Raymoan Jr., Karl Jr., and King Joseph. Six brothers; Carlton (Florence) Johnson of Millville NJ, Milton (Mia) Johnson of Woodbridge VA, Elder Glendon (Marie) Johnson of Williamstown NJ, Warren (Deda) Johnson, Thomas (Barbara) Johnson, and Elder Lester (Angela) Johnson all of Vineland NJ; two sisters, Deaconess Juanita (Henry) Sease of Fairfield Township NJ and Minister Mary (Herbert) Underwood of Vineland NJ. In addition to his Mother-in-Law, Mother Agnes Burnett, the Christian Love Church family, the Kingdom Connection Fellowship of Churches, Inc., he leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Reverend Joseph and Sarah Johnson, grandparents, Sheridan and Belle Merritt, three siblings; Leonard Johnson, Amelia Currington, and Mildred Pryor.
