Obituary of Valerie J. Larmore
On Friday, March 23, 2018 our precious Valerie Jean Larmore was called home to rest eternally in peace.
Valerie was the first child born into the union of the late Shirley L. and James R. Larmore on September 18, 1949.
She grew up in Beverly, NJ where her formal education was in the Beverly public schools; her family relocated to Willingboro and she graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1967. Val graduated from Trenton State College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences. She spent her professional career working for Burlington County Social Services, retiring after 25 years of service.
At a young age she joined Macedonia Baptist Church in Beverly, NJ. She was very active as a youth and young adult and was part of various ministries including HOPE ministry and Youth ministry and her passion was the Pastor’s Aide ministry.
Later, as a member of the Alpha Baptist Church family she took an active role in many activities including teaching Sunday School. She attended classes and became a certified Sunday School instructor blessing the lives of the children she touched. Outside of church she continued her charitable work where she was also a caregiver for the elderly.
Valerie loved her family and as the oldest took an active role of nurturing her siblings and their children, as well as many cousins. After the loss of her brother, she stepped in and took the role of mother to Achsah, raising her and nurturing her for her entire life.
Valerie loved to cook and have family over for the holidays. She loved her church, her Pastor and her church family.
In spite of her health, she held on to God’s unchanging hands until God called her home.
Valerie is predeceased by her mother Shirley L. Larmore; her father James R. Larmore; her brother Kenny Larmore; her sister Diane Larmore; her niece/Goddaughter Shirley Larmore; and nephew Kenneth (Keno) Juniors Larmore.
Valerie is survived by her daughter Achsah; five brothers, Rodney (Adrienne), Donald, Tony (Roslyn), Eugene (Nadine), and Ruebin; Goddaughters Serita (Ree Ree) and Darlene; Godson Guy; aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and her extended adopted family.
We love you but God loves you best...and now your crown awaits you.
Lovingly Submitted,
The Family
