Obituary of Dallas Anderson Jr.

Dallas Anderson , Jr. was born on January 30, 1960 in Bridgeton, NJ to the late Dallas Anderson, Sr. and Ida Glee Colson. As a young boy, Dallas and his family moved to Hartford, CT where he attended and matriculated through the Hartford Public School system.  He enjoyed playing football and running track while in high school.  His love for track continued as he worked security for Cigna.  He also represented them in track and field competitions and participated in the World Police Olympics all while serving as a Hartford Police Officer.  Dallas was very proud of his service as a police officer especially the time spent as a motorcycle officer. During his career there he made many valuable friendships that he's always cherished. After retiring from the Hartford Police Dept., Dallas worked as a Park Ranger for the Metropolitan District Commission while managing his rental properties.

On September 5, 1992 Dallas married Christal Billington and the two were blessed with their daughter Bailey Malora Anderson.  Throughout the years, Dallas enjoyed coaching his children and others in both track and basketball. He loved riding his Harley Davidson, playing spirited rounds of golf and travelling. Dallas also served as a mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Connecticut.  During the summers, he often enjoyed grilling for family gatherings, playing a friendly game of golf with his buddies and kidding around with family and friends.

Dallas entered into eternal life on Sunday, March 25, 2018. He was predeceased in death by his parents; Dallas Anderson ,Sr. and Ida Glee Colson as well as his beloved grandmother; Esther Wiles and grandfather; Edward Lazard.

Dallas is survived by his wife of 25 years, Christal Anderson, two daughters, Bailey Anderson and Barbara Smith and son Tyrell Jarrett, grandsons Aiden Jarrett and Tylon Welch, stepfather; Willie Glee, two sisters; Patricia Johnson and Kimberly Mackey, great aunt; Rev. Alice Cook, uncle; Arthur Lee White, his favorite cousin; Ann Robinson and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Dallas will certainly be missed by his family and friends who knew and loved him best.
