Obituary of James S. Trinity, Jr.
James Scott Trinity; Jr.
James Scott Trinity, Jr. was born on October 17, 1943 in Newark, New Jersey to James and Ruth Trinity, Sr. He was the second oldest of five children and the only son.
James (better known as Jim or Jimmy) grew up in Edison, New Jersey.
He graduated from Edison High School in 1961. He attended Upsala College and served in the Army National Guard for three years. He worked for Exxon from 1968 until 1993, where he served as the union president. Jim had a passion for landscaping, and enjoyed spending time in his yard. Jim loved to race cars, a pastime he began in his younger years at the Englishtown Raceway. He continued fulfilling that passion as a member of the Porsche Club and by introducing his grandsons to racing. Jim was a devoted New York Giants fan, and he almost never missed a game. He enjoyed coaching youth baseball and football for many years, and touched many young lives. Jim enjoyed listening to music - he was an "oldies" guy - but especially loved Rock n Roll, the Rolling Stones, and Jimmy Buffet. He also loved the Gospel Choir, which included his favorite choir member, his adoring wife Rhoda.
Jim leaves behind many cherished memories to his beloved wife Rhoda of 25 years. He and Rhoda enjoyed traveling the high seas and went on many cruises over the years. Jim is survived by his daughter Jodi Holstead (David), and his son James Trinity Ill (Julie), who recall countless treasured memories including summer vacations in Wildwood Crest and Disney World. Jim loved to tell everyone he knew about his precious grandchildren: Miranda Cugini (Richard), David Holstead, Jr., Marissa Holstead, Jacob Trinity and Joshua Trinity; two loving sisters Martha Bevacqua and Ruth Potash; four brothers-in-law, "special brothers" Richard Monticello, Ron Tabron, Joe Popolawski; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He is predeceased by his beloved wife and mother of his children Barbara Trinity, his parents James and Ruth Trinity Sr., and his sisters Sue Dymond and Cheryl Erlenmeyer.
On September 22, 2018 Jim went home to the Lord peacefully with his family by his side. He will always be remembered by all who knew and loved him.
