Obituary of Marjorie Washington

Marjorie Washington was born June 20, 1947 in Newport, Mississippi to the late Lozel and Tony Suggs. She was the 5th born of 18 kids. As a child she loved playing softball and love doing activities with her brothers and sisters especially with their home-made go-karts, swings, etc. She loved traveling, especially to family reunions and good gospel programs.

Marjorie attended Deerfield township and Bridgeton public school systems. She worked many different jobs, including foster parenting to many children. She loved working for the Vineland Developmental Center and taking care of the kids as she should say. She retired from there due to health reasons but continued to be foster parent and work with disadvantaged kids.

She was always about "Family". Marjorie loved giving and taking care of family with no questions ask. She was inspirational and made you feel like you could do anything in the world if you had faith. She believed in others when they didn't believe in themselves. Always uplifting despite what ever she had going on in her life. She was a beacon of light with a very strong determination to survive and up lift anyone whom needed it. She just loved being able to help. People loved being in her presence to hear the unexpected or just her loving clowning that would erase any pain you would be feeling for that day. She loved doing weekend breakfast at the local diners with family and having dinners so that family could get together and enjoy each other's company. She enjoyed camping at Outdoor World with her family.

Her hobbies included cooking, the Casino and playing cards with her family and friends despite her inability to mix and deal them. She loved having old fashion picnics, barbeques and anything that would keep the family strong. She loved life.

Marjorie gravitated to people needing help. She showed great stewardship to the community by providing meals and often providing odd jobs to those whom didn't have work. Or offering good words of comfort and wisdom.

She leaves to cherish her memories her husband Alphonso, sons; Willie and Tyrone Dickson, daughter; Loretta Carter, Grandchildren; KiLynne Carter, TyRon Carter, Deshay Dickson, Vantasha Dickson, Anthony Carter, Zarreah Dickson, Great Grandkids, Makai Carter, Chris Lebron; siblings; Marie (roland) Nelson, James Suggs, Billy (Debra) Suggs, Lorraine (Ronald) Johnson, Lula (khalifah) Mustafaa, Gregory Suggs, Johnnie Suggs, Tracey Gains, Minister William (Lisa) Suggs, Julie Smith, Amy Miller and a host of niece and nephews. She also leaves a Step Daugh-ter, Stacey Washington, and step son Cedric Williams, step grand daughter Minnesha Cooper, Brittany Rim, two step grandkids, Amir Johnson and Amani Johnson.

Preceded in death a son, Anthony Dickson; her parents Lozel and Tony Suggs, Sisters, April and Loretta Suggs; brothers, Thomas Jr. Suggs, Rev. Thomas Earl Suggs, Clinton and Sylvester Suggs.
