Obituary of Diane L. Hart
Diane L. Hart, 65 of New Castle, Delaware transitioned from Earth to Glory on Wednesday November 14, 2018 after an extended illness with her family by her side
Diane was born on June 8, 1953 to the late James H. Allen and Apostle Margaret R. (Allen) Weeks in Dublin, Ga. and shortly moved to Vineland, NJ where she attended Vineland and Bridgeton school systems. Diane later attended Cumberland County Community College where she obtain a degree in nursing, then went on to Rosenhayn Vo-Tech, school. Diane later moved to North Carolina with her youngest daughter from 1993 to 2000 and in the summer of 2000 moved to New Castle, Delaware. Diane held several jobs throughout her lifetime and retiring from the Port of Delaware as well as the Delaware Psychiatric Center. Diane was extremely well-known and held a special relationship with everyone she encountered especially the Goldsboro family. Diane loved to play sports as she played softball for Ms. Annie Williams-Wright’s league and also was on the women’s bowling league. She also loved and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends especially cruising, the Caribbean Islands and lets me not forget the annual Gouldtown barbecue’s every year. In 2014, Diane married the love of her life and companion Gary D. Hart of over 40 years. Diane is going to be truly missed for her remarkable style, bubbly personality and the love she had for each and every one she loved and that loved her back.
She leaves to cherish her memories and is survived by her loving husband, Gary D. Hart; one son, Johnathan S. Weeks; two daughters, Sonjah N. Weeks-Burris and Geneyne D. Hart.; two god-daughters, Stephanie Hart and Ebony Pope.,seven grandchildren, Keith Baker Jr., Kiara Weeks, Kiyon (Desire’) Weeks, Marshawn Hickman, Miara White, Amir Hurtt and Madison-Nicole Dennis.; five great-grandchildren, Tre, Kayla, Kaleb, Khai and Tristen.; six sisters, Patricia (Charles) Johnson, Yvonne (Andrew) Mitchell, Betty (Larry) Walker, Barbara (Charles) Forrest, Beronica Weeks and Gloria (Lamont) Smith.; one brother, William N. (Marsha) Weeks Jr.; one step-sister, Flora Ann (John) Young.; two step-brothers, William Weeks Sr., Harry (Tina) Weeks and two four legged companions Prince and Achilles and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides her father she was also preceded in death by one son, William ‘Billy Boy’ Weeks Jr., and her step-father Chief Apostle William N. Weeks Sr.
