Obituary of Wallace Diana Wilson
Diane Wilson, age 63, was affectionately known as (Peter) was born on December 12, 1953. She was the daughter of Wallace Wilson and the late Evalla Mae Vick Wilson. She entered the Pearly Gates of Heaven on November 17, 2018.
At the age of 7, the Wilson Family relocated to Camden, New Jersey. Diane was educated in the Camden City School District, graduating from Camden High School June 1973.
Diane was family oriented and dedicated to setting principals and decent morals for her siblings. Diane was outgoing and loved. She also became very bossy but she would enjoy being around her family and friends.
Diane attended Glassboro State College in 1974 with her choice of making Sociology her college major.
From 1980 to 1985, Diane pursued a career in Early Childhood Education at the Camden Day Nursery of Camden, New Jersey. Diane’s love for her co-workers and students was displayed by her hard work and continuous participation to educate our young children. Diane’s pursuit of a successful career led her to leave Camden, New Jersey.
Leaving her family was one of the hardest decisions Diane had to make in her life, but her determination and her positivity led her to start a new life in St. Louis, Missouri. Diane received continuous love and moral support from her loving Aunt Minnie Vick and her cousin Jacqueline Vick. Diane also had such a strong bond and love for her nieces and nephews.
Diane became employed at the Hertz Rental Car Service in 1984 as a Customer Service Representative. She made a decision to retire in 2015 because of health issues.
Diane attended Tempe Ministry Baptist Church in St. Louis, Missouri. She has been a member since 2007.
Diane became a dedicated worker at a homeless shelter. She volunteered 4 days a week. Diane’s health began to fail suddenly; it was a complete shock. Diane’s passion was to come home every year for the holidays to enjoy and celebrate with her family and friends. Her favorite food was seafood, and her favorite desserts were Banana Pudding and Sweet Potato Pie. Diane’s love and passion for the family gatherings will truly be missed.
Diane is survived by her father, Wallace Wilson of Camden, NJ; her late mother, Evalla Mae Vick Wilson; she also leaves to mourn and cherish her memories, 6 sisters, Gloria J. Wilson-Wilkerson (deceased), Shirley Savage (Laymon) of Camden, NJ, Darlene Wilson of Sicklerville, NJ., Doris Grady of Lindenwold, NJ., Sabrina McKinney (Steve) of Lindenwold, NJ., Ivory Wilson of Camden, NJ., and Sherry Lewis of Camden, NJ.; 3 brothers, Walter Wilson (deceased), Aaron Grady (Tanika) of Atlanta, Ga. And Ray Grady of Atlanta, Ga.; Minnie Vick of St. Louis, Mo., Catherine Battle of Wilson, N.C.; 2 Godsisters, Kyisha Colvin of Camden, NJ. And Bonnie Robinson of Camden, NJ.; 1 Godbrother, Rashad Williams of Pennsauken, NJ and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
