Obituary of Denise V. Nowell
Obituary
Denise Victoria Nowell, affectionately known by all as “Neicy” or “Nee Nee”, was born June 8, 1966, the second daughter to Irving and the late Elizabeth Nowell. Neicy was educated in the Philadelphia Public School System.
Thirty-One (31) years ago Neicy met “The Love of her life”, Darryl White. Neicy and Darryl were blessed to raise their five (5) children, Herman, Darryl, Jr., Anesia, Raheem and Sadeed together in a loving home, where there were cookouts, family gatherings, birthday celebrations, proms and graduations. Neicy also loved movies and watching television. Any movie that came out, you could be sure she would have it on DVD. She enjoyed attending events with family and friends and never missed a hair appointment so she could look good for the next event, or just to sit in the house taking pictures/selfies for the “books” (FaceBook).
One of Neicy’s special events was the annual trip to Connecticut to visit her cousin/brother Kevin, which she had done for the past 4 years. Sorrowfully, this was to be her last. God lifted her from her illness on Monday, July 15, 2019, surrounded by Darryl, her sister Janice, Kevin, Aunt Della and cousin Darlene.
Denise was preceded in death by her mother Elizabeth and recently her cousin/sister Renee Anderson and sister-in-law Trina Salley.
She leaves to cherish her memory, husband Darryl, their 5 children; her father Irving and stepmother Frances Nowell; 2 grandchildren, Brianna and Khylen; siblings, Janice (Hondu), June (Robert), Angela, Arthur and Marvin; 4 nieces, Chaneel, Sharee, Alicia and Ashley; 3 nephews, Terrell, Hondu, Jr., and Melchi; Godsons, Fareed, Anthony, Eddie and Steve; 2 brothers-in-law, Jessie and Steve White; many Aunts, Uncles, Special Cousins and 2 Special Friends, Tynia and Linda who lover her unconditionally. Also a very Special Aunt, Della (Sookie); her cousin/niece, Shekera Anderson whom she shared a special bond with.
