Obituary of Jeffrey Michael Gore
Obituary
Jeffrey Michael Gore, our gift from God was born in Woodbury, NJ to Marie Simmons-Sheffield and Raymond Gore on October 26, 1983. Nicknamed Jeffie-Weffie by his Grandma Rosalind E. Lockley and Smutten-Putten by his cousin Missy Warrick, he was also called P.A. by his friends.
Jeffrey was an only child for the first 9 years of his life when he joyfully welcomed his brother and only sibling, James A. McCann, Jr.
Jeffrey received his elementary education in the Lindenwold Public School system. After the family relocated to Cherry Hill, he attended Cherry Hill East where he made lifelong friends.
As a child, Jeffrey attended Bethany Baptist Church in Somerdale, NJ where he was baptized by Bishop David G. Evans. There he received early training in Christian discipleship. Throughout his spiritual journey Jeffrey grew closer to the Lord.
Although burdened with a chronic and debilitating illness, diagnosed when he was 9 years old; Jeffrey was determined to work. His first employment at the age of 14 was in the restaurant industry. Jeffrey continued to work off an on through the years as his health allowed.
Jeffrey loved sporting events, going to the movies and playing video games. He was a fun-loving young man who enjoyed hanging out with friends. Large in size, Jeffrey had a heart of gold with a protective and loving concern for family and friends. He was our gentle giant.
Throughout his childhood, Jeffrey looked forward to outings with his favorite cousins, Eugene and Farris and his Grandmother Rosalind who nicknamed them the 3 Musketeers.
On July 18, 2019 our beloved Jeffrey shook off the cares of this world and heeded the call of the Master. He entered into his heavenly home and our loss is certainly Heaven’s gain.
Jeffrey will be sorely missed by his mother Marie Simmons-Sheffield, his father Raymond Gore, brother James A. McCann, Jr. (Nichelle), Grandmothers: Rosalind E. Lockley and Mary Gore-Brown, Grandfathers: John H. Simmons and Raymond Gore, aunts: Greta E. Foxworth and Dorothy Gore, one uncle Dennis Gore.
As well as a host of relatives and friends, special mention to Little Miss Imani Aliyah Gore, whom Jeffrey dearly loved.
Lovingly submitted,
