Marina Lucila Guerrero Santos
July 6, 1936 – February 22, 2020
On Saturday, February 22, 2020, Marina L. Santos, was Promoted to Glory and is now enjoying the splendor of her Lord and her Heavenly Home and reciting the many poems she learned as a child and still remembered even after sickness came upon her.
Marina accepted the Lord Jesus at a very young age and served Him faithfully throughout her life. She was the wife of a missionary and church planter, then became an Envoy (Minister of The Salvation Army) in her own right. Although Marina was an introvert, often overshadowed by her extreme extrovert husband, Roberto Santos, through her ministry she touched an untold number of lives in very deep and significant ways. If holiness has levels, Marina exemplified the highest level of holiness. People in different countries and in all USA Salvation Army Territories will miss this beautiful woman of God.
Marina L. Santos leaves behind her husband of 63 years, Roberto Santos, five children: Roberto Amadis Santos, Balderes Lucila (Armando) Alvarez, Major Edelweiss Georgina Santos, Major Alma Priscilla (John) Riley and Major Persida Marina (Leonardo) Sanclemente. Marina has 20 grandchildren: Eduardo, Roberto, Flo, Tamara, Amber, Melody, Priscilla, Jessica, Francisco, Ryan, Ciara, Christopher, David, Timothy, Jonathan, Marissa, Denise, Stephen, Louis and Brian. All of her “children-in-law” also grieve this loss. Marina also had 25 great grandchildren: Mar, Louis, Lily, Joey, Roberto, Cristopher, Sophia, Isaac, Luz Marie, Sol Marie, Amari, Destiny, Brown Jr., Debbie, Ceana, Jor-El, Isaiah, Robbie, Easton, Karter, Rain, Elena, Seely, Shay, Brianna. All will sorely miss their Grandma/Abuela Marina. Sister, Luz Minerva Clark; nieces, Adiss Clark-Valera and Carol Muniz; great aunt, Bienvenida Guerrero and a great number of extended family members will also miss this lovely lady.
Marina loved all Scripture; one of her favorites is, “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.” Psalm 91:1,2 (KJV)
Condolences may be sent to: Roberto Santos, 7104 Pat Blvd., Tampa, FL 33615
