On July 31st, 1932 the Evans family gathered and rejoiced, for that day a baby girl named Inez was born to the late Leroy Evans and Mary Ann Evans. On Sunday, August 2nd the Lord whispered softly to Inez “well done thy good and faithful servant come on up a little higher.” Inez was born in Blenheim, S.C. and where she went to school. It was in Blenheim, S.C. where she met her first love, who became her husband the late June Pratt who preceded her in death. From that union came four loving children, a set of twins Alton Bernaise (Preacher), and Alton Bernard (Buddy) a daughter Daisy Mcelderry and a son Frank Pratt. Inez later moved along with her family to Bennettsvile, S. C. Inez accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age as a result of her mother instilling in her how good God is. Inez joined the Pee Dee Baptist Church in Bennettsville, S.C. where most of her family attended. Inez stayed a member of Pee Dee Baptist church until she moved to Brooklyn, New York. While in Brooklyn, Inez made Good Samaritan Baptist Church her new church home where she joined and became a member. It was at Good Samaritan Baptist Church where she met her second love and husband, the late Rev. Thomas Flowers. Inez and Rev. Flowers was married for 40 years before he preceded her in death. From that union came one son Thomas. Inez and the Rev. moved their family to Camden , N.J. Inez loved the Lord and was faithful to the Lord. She was the First Lady of the United Missionary Baptist Church in Delaware, where her husband Rev. Thomas Flowers was the shepherd. Inez maintained the faithfulness to her church and the stature of a first lady until she went home to be with the Lord. Her generous heart, faith in God, advice and all the love she gave will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she has touched.
