William Benjamin Alston III born on February 10, 1952 began his journey into the Kingdom of our Heavenly Father on August 3, 2020. William was the only son of William Benjamin Alston II and Harriet Victoria Alston (Atkinson). William was born in Flushing Queens, New York the youngest of four children; sisters Juanita, Saundra, Sylvia (deceased). He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Elizabeth Alston (Coleman) as he affectionately called "Queen Elizabeth" or Chiquita; four children - daughters Toxi Danette, Tamara Shontel (Tami), Traci Alexis and son William Benjamin Alston IV (Will) and Opa/Pop Pop to five grandchildren, three grandsons and two granddaughters. William lived his primary years in Queens, New York later living in Camden, New Jersey and also North Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he attended Community College of Philadelphia and received his degree from Temple University. A stellar career spanning over 50 years that allowed him to travel the world and meet people of all facets of life as he was a Series 13 Broker of Insurance and Annuities, Real Estate, International Business Finance Consultant , Sports Agent and Promoter also dedicated service to his country as a member of the U.S. Air Force. He was a passionate lover of all things sports with his #1 being the New York Yankees. This passion resonated with his younger children which resulting in him creating the WBA youth program for his daughter to play basketball and coaching his son in numerous sports. He also was a champion basketball AAU coach. Anyone who had the pleasure and opportunity to meet Mr. Bill knew that he was a Godly man who had a passion for mentoring, counseling and inspiring others formally and informally. He was an ordained minister in counseling ministry services focused on elevating you to strive for the ultimate greatness that he saw in you as an individual and child of God. William always strived for positivity with a daily mantra of “Thank God for blessing us with another wonderful day, Jesus loves you and I love you.” And motto of “Good, better, best let me not rest until my good is better and my better is best.” To God be the glory for a life well lived.
