Bryant Lamont Talley was born on August 8, 1959 to the late Lonnie C. and Anna M. (King) Talley Sr. in Camden, NJ. On October 5, 2020, Bryant was called from his earthly dwelling to his heavenly home. Bryant was the fifth of seven siblings, Karen, Beverly, Gary, Steven, and Lisa.. He was educated in the Camden School systems and went on to work in various settings acquiring new task and skills along the way.
Bryant accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He reaffirmed his commitment to Christ about two years ago. While living in the city of Camden, Bryant joined Kaighn Avenue Baptist Church. He later relocated to Chesilhurst and became a member of Grant AME Church until he became ill and was no longer able to attend.
Anyone one who knew Bryant knows he was fond of fashion and knowledgeable about his family’s history. Bryant loved to walk and could show up on your doorstep at any given date, time, or hour. Bryant had love affair with Motown. He would be found blasting the sounds of Dianna Ross and the Supremes, the Marvelettes, and Mahalia Jackson singing “Sooner Will Be Done.” Bryant could eat like it was nobody’s busy. He spent many holidays with family, piling everything served on his plate, twice!
Bryant’s favorite classic television program was “Imitation of Life.” He could watch it over and over as if it were the first time he saw it each time he saw it.
Bryant loved to sing and dance. Check out the video of him and Beverly Ann(aka, Kim Talley) on Facebook where he pretends to be Dianna Ross singing into a broom handle while dancing with his favorite niece.
Everyone has a memory or two about their life with Bryant that they can share. It is those memories that will encourage and heal us when the days grow dark and we begin to miss our loved brother and uncle. During those times, take out your phone and call or text one another and say, “Hey, remember when Bryant …?”
Bryant never married or had any children but he leaves many to cherish his memories. Three sisters, Karen Ford, Beverly Wanamaker, and Lisa (George) Givens. In-laws, Ella & Charles McCoy, and Roberta Holmes. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. His favorite cousin/sister Raydine Thomas Adams. Bryant spent many years over Philadelphia with his extended family discussing history and fashion. Raydine could tell you some stories.
Bryant was preceded in death by Lonnie Jr., Gary, Steven (brothers). Marcella Talley, Harry Ford, Robert Knock, and Stanley Wanamaker (In-laws)
