Even though I saw and touched my brother in-love as he laid there, I am still in disbelief.... I can’t believe he is gone. Dwayne was truly a gem....a real stand up kind of guy....our family has lost one of our strongest links and we are extremely saddened by this sudden, significant loss.

I remember the first time on the job when I met Dwayne, he stood next to me, I looked up and he said, your John McKenna's little sister (my brother & Dwayne worked together in the 1990s) and I said, yes I'm his younger sister, I don't know about little but I'm surely little next to you ....
We both laughed really hard, out loud. Thats was our first belly laugh but we had plenty more, pretty much every time I saw him! He was an awesome guy, a great cop, always genuine and always smiled when i saw him! I will miss that Big Guy and his great hugs. Fly High buddy, keep a watch on us, your sisters & brothers in blue, we surely need them.
You will be missed brother!
Love, McKenna#421 (John's Lil Sister)

Dwayne was a good friend and great co-worker. Dwayne knowing I was German, during a trip to Germany with his Air Force reserve unit he brought me back a six pack of German beer without me even asking him. It was so nice of him to think of me while he was over there. Right before I retired we got a call of a crazy person in the station punching random people. I got there first and pulled my taser telling him to get down. Around the corner comes Dwayne and he yells to me “hit em” pow I pulled the trigger and Dwayne pounced on him and got him cuffed. Dwayne saved the day. I’ll miss Dwayne and the ball breaking we would do to each other. Rest In Peace Dwayne.
