Obituary of Rodney Walker

Rodney Walker, 57 departed this life on Monday, October 26, 2020. He was born October 9, 1963 to the late Bertha M Walker and Troy McLendon in Bridgeton, NJ.
He attended Bridgeton Public School system and worked at Clements Pappas in Bridgeton, NJ before becoming ill.
Rodney loved all types of music. You could call him any time day or night and say Rodney “what was the name of a song or the artist” and without any hesitation he could tell you the name of the song and who sings it. Rodney consider himself a true funk-a-tier. He loved the sound of the bass in Disco nights by GQ and the inspirational message in Sunrise by Slick.
He loved playing his bass guitar, singing and listening to music. His favorite Gospel Quartet group was Joe Ligon and the Mighty Clouds of Joy. I’ve been in the storm too long by the Mighty Clouds of Joy and Jesus you’ve been good to me by the Gospel Key Notes was two of his favorite songs. Rodney played the bass guitar for the Russell Singers, Loretta Thomas and Visions, and other Gospel groups in the Cumberland County area.
Rodney leaves to cherish his memory his daughter Domonique McCoy, a grandson Anthony McCoy who he cherish and adored, four sisters Julia Brooks, Hopewell, NJ, Diane Walker, Cynthia Walker, Lori Walker, one brother Linwood Walker all of Bridgeton, NJ, eleven nieces and nephews, fifteen great niece and nephews who he loved and cherished, three aunts Willie Scott, Bridgeton, NJ, Dorothy Saunders (Robert) and Ann Mack of Millville NJ, Roy McLendon of Georgia, a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
He was predeceased in death by his parents Bertha Walker and Troy McLendon, a sister Gwen McLendon, three aunts Ruth Bennett, Lona Jordan, Sarah peed, one uncle Robert Mack, fourteen paternal aunts and uncles and a niece Lisa Johnson.
