Obituary of Robert Artis

Robert Mitchum Artis affectionately known as “Robby” born on October 17, 1941, to the late Henry Pretty and Georgia Rose Artis in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. The eighth child of fifteen siblings.
Very quietly and peacefully at 7:53 P.M., on Sunday November 22, 2020. Almighty God, in His infinite wisdom, mercy, and grace, closed the eyes of our beloved husband and father ROBERT M. ARTIS he entered into his eternal rest. He died, as he lived, quiet and humble.
Robert received his formal education from the Philadelphia Public School System. He worked at St. Ignatius Nursing Home. He also worked for Elwyn Institute for twenty-five years and retired from there in 2014.
On March 16, 1963 Robert married Mary Louise Malloy Artis from this union God blessed
them with four children Kirk, Kevin, (deceased) Keith (deceased) and his daughter Kellyce.
He was a loving and dedicated husband to his late wife Mary Louise until her death in 1987.
On January 21, 1989 Robert and Sandra W. Artis entered into holy matrimony, from
this union God blessed them with a son Brian, Robert adopted his stepdaughter Stephanie.
Robert gave his life to the Lord and joined Highway Church of Christ pastorate by the late Bishop Fred Grant.
Robert is survived: by his loving wife Sandra, and four children, two daughter-in- laws, Adrianna, and Jeanne, son-in-law Kyle. Affectionately known as “Pop-Pop” by his grands: Demetris, Dedria, Kiara, Kheanna, James, Jamal, Jameal ,Ja’Lisa ,Janaya, Keith, and London. Eight great grandchildren: Jahmie, Angelo, Nekhi, Zori, Carato, Keith, Lisa Janae, and Brielle. Seven sisters: Jacqueline, Valerie, Henrietta, Ozellia, Rosa Lee, Marcella, and Hetti., Two brother- in- laws: Edward and George, two sister-in- laws: Shirley and Linda And A host of family and friends.
