Robert and Roderick and family. Mere words could never be enough to express what I am feeling in the loss of your mother. This is Sylvia and I hope you remember who I am. When I heard of the passing of your mother last night my heart was saddened that I lost a dear friend but my heart was also full of so much gratitude that God in his infinite wisdom allowed us to cross each other's paths in life.
As you so elegantly put it Robert she was a Friend and she was there for as many as she could be. Thank you for allowing the funeral home to share the service online, although I could not be there through technology I was able to share in the tribute to her. You had an amazing mother, an awesome Woman of God and she was a tremendous mentor to so many. She was there for me at my first official government job, at my graduation for my Associate Degree in 1984 and again for my Bachelor's Degree in 2013. She was there for my wedding in 1991 and the birth of all of my children in 1993 and 1994. We shared when Robert got married, when she first became a grandmother. We shared when Roderick became a father there are so many wonderful memories of your mom.
So many pictures that she took, so many celebrations in life on both side. She was an angel on earth with so many wings that she gladly used to help shelter others. I love her and I love each of you. My prayers and condolences for the both of you and your family.

Rob and Family,
Aunt Barbara was a beautiful woman. We are blessed to have our memories with her. I think back to sitting at the baseball game with her, and she shared her potato chips with Eski. He was only 2 years old. He ate the whole bag and that started his love of chips! You are in our prayers. May the Lord provide you with comfort. Love, Eric, Teresa, and Eric Jr.
