Obituary of Denise Dixon
Please share a memory of Denise to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Denise Dixon was born June 11, 1965 to the late Jonnie Mae Jackson (mother) and the late Pete Dixon (father). Dee, as she was affectionally called received her formal education through the parochial school systems where she excelled in her studies. Dee was well liked and loved by many of her Camden Catholic High School classmates where she was a pivotal player of the Camden Catholic girls’ basketball team. For those who knew Dee you know that she absolutely loved basketball and was a diehard Duke Blue Devil’s basketball fan. She would never miss an opportunity to watch her favorite team play. After graduation Denise followed her passion and attended the Philadelphia Art Institute. Being a strong willed, determined and focused young woman, Dee was always about handling her business. She hit the ground running and worked many jobs from Marianne’s clothing store to Mid Atlantic Bank just to name a few. Finally, she laid her roots down at the University of Pennsylvania for 30 years and it was just like family to her. There she worked with Dr. David Weiner for many years. Denise leaves to mourn her beloved son Orlandis Amir, Two sisters Dollie Dixon, Lisa Dixon, Predeceased brother Pete Dixon II and sister Barbara Dixon.
