Obituary of William F. Webb

William Forrest Webb entered the world on August 20, 1943 in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. He was the older of two children born to the late Forresta Battis Webb and Nathaniel Gerald Webb. Bill attended the Philadelphia Public School System and then joined the Army in 1960. After leaving the Army, Bill attended Morris Technical Institute, where he obtained a degree in Electronic Repair and Maintenance. He soon married Jeanne Rollins and they were blessed with three daughters Christina, Linda and Lisa. Bill began his career working for Telco Electronics as an electronics repair technician. Soon after he met the love of his life, Gaynell Reynolds, from Mocksville, North Carolina. Bill and Gaynell married in 1971 and their union was blessed with two boys, Gerald and Douglass. There were no ups or downs for this devoted couple and their marriage bond grew sweeter and stronger for 50 years. With the love and support of his wife, Bill opened his first TV repair shop in Atco, NJ in the 1980’s and it wasn’t long before he opened a 2nd shop in Williamstown, NJ. His successful career as a small business owner spanned twenty years. After closing his businesses in 1994, Bill went to work for KML Technologies, as the Director of Technical Services from 2002-2011, when he officially retired. Bill’s love of technology began at an early age. His brother recalls being highly irritated when a curious 12-year old Bill would take apart perfectly good radios and televisions just to see how they worked. Luckily, he was always able to put them back in working order. In later years, as computers became more prevalent, Bill loved attending electronic shows, where he bought parts to assemble his very own computers. Bill loved doing this for two reasons: he could build a better computer and he could also save a buck. Bill loved to travel. He enjoyed many visits to his wife’s homestead in Mocksville, North Carolina where he and his family shared countless happy moments and made lots of memories. He also enjoyed vacationing with his brother, Nathaniel and sister-in-law, Phyliss. These were joyous and fun-filled times as they traveled to places like Chicago, Washington, Lake Tahoe, Hawaii and Seattle. Fun fact: while riding shotgun on these trips, Bill usually imparted his wisdom by giving unsolicited driving directions and advice. He did this with even more zeal than when discussing politics, finances or any other topic he was passionate about. Bill was a founding member of the South Jersey Capital Investment Club (SJCIC), a member of the Rotary Club, and a Paul Harris Fellow. Bill enjoyed family gatherings, reading, discussing politics/current events, rooting for his Philadelphia Eagles, and his dog Casper was never too far from his side. Bill was kind, thoughtful, warm and well-liked by everyone lucky enough to know him. As the rock of the Webb family, Bill will be dearly missed by his loving wife Gaynell, daughters Christina, Linda (husband Eric), Lisa (husband Bryan), sons Gerald and Douglass, brother Nathaniel, niece Lauren, grandchildren Anna, Alexsandra, Jason, Cherae, E.J., Josh, Alec, Dahcere, Tyonna, and family friend Christina, as well as a host of other relatives and friends too numerous to list. Bill lives on in all of us for the memories he created, the values he instilled and the love he shared.
