Obituary
Obituary of Julio A. Cruz
Please share a memory of Julio to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Julio Angel Cruz-Lopez was born in St. Croix, Virgin Islands to Rosita Lopez and Francisco Cruz. He was raised in Vieques, Puerto Rico with his four siblings: Ana Rivera, Francisco Cruz Jr., Juan Cruz and Rosita Cruz. Julio was known for his infectious smile and his ability to make everyone around him feel at home. He was an excellent cook and an artist in his own right. He was very good with his hands and could fix anything.
He was a humble man who loved being surrounded by family and friends and could always be relied upon to make sure everyone was having a good time. He loved to brag about his children and grandkids and told endless stories. Somehow, he always knew what everyone in the family was up to.
He was a proud son, brother, father, grandpop, and uncle and was never afraid to express his love to those around him. The brotherly bond he shared with Jungo and Poy is the greatest demonstration of his love for family. In his final months, Julio served as the primary caretaker to his loving mother. It was not uncommon to see them dancing salsa in
the living room.
He is survived by his three children: Julio Cruz, Jr., his wife Amber and their four children Izaiah, Xayvion, Jeramiah and Bentley from Terryville, Connecticut; Juan Cruz, his wife Julie and their three children Jayden, Makenzy and Braiyden from Bristol, Connecticut; and his daughter Rosa Inez Cruz from Bristol, PA. He is also survived by his parents and siblings. Julio is remembered fondly by those who had the pleasure of knowing him, may he rest in peace.
