Obituary of Helen E Roach

Helen Elizabeth (Moore) Roach was born May 20, 1935 in Oskaloosa, Kansas. She passed away peacefully at home with family by her side, on February 2, 2021. Helen was the third of seven children born to Edgar and Arlouine (Collins) Moore. After graduating from Valley Falls High School, she got a job as a Paralegal Secretary.
She stopped working after she married Albert Carl Roach, Sr (deceased). They had three children: Albert Carl Roach, Jr., Janet Yvonne, and Justine Collette. Albert was in the Air Force and they were able to travel in the United States and overseas. They settled in Willingboro, New Jersey.
After they divorced, she began working. She worked in the Social Security office. She also worked as a part-time bartender. She enjoyed hosting parties for family while making new friends from selling Sarah
Coventry Jewelry, Tupperware, and Princess House. She was a Brownie Leader. She was a group organizer during elections, encouraging people to vote, Helping candidates to win. Some of her hobbies were cooking, making ceramics, sewing, making macrame planters,
growing plants, puzzle books and playing cards. She took several training classes and received many outstanding certificates. As a result, she retired as Chief Personnel of Transportation at McGuire Air Force Base, New Jersey.
After her health began to fail, she moved in with her daughter Janet Pruden. During this time, she attended Active Day Center in Delran and they called her “Queen Helen”. She will always be known for her style, personality, humor and beautiful smile (with her red lip stick). She was preceded in death by her son Albert Carl Roach, Jr., her sisters Darlene Montgomery, Frances Crith, Joyce Byrd, Florence Shuler, and Rita Moore.
She is survived by her daughters Janet Pruden and Justine Valentine, 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, One brother, Edgar (Talaila) Moore, Jr, a special niece Bonita Boyd, her best friend Vivian Harrison, and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
A CELEBRATION OF LIFE CEREMONY WILL BE
