Obituary of Lisa Adgerson
Please share a memory of Lisa to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
With loving care our Heavenly Father has taken Lisa (nee: Strother) Adgerson into His bosom. Lisa transitioned to her eternal home on February 14, 2021. She was the fourth child born to Joseph and Victoria Strother, on March 27, 1962, in Eufaula, Alabama where she spent the first nine years of her life. Upon moving with her family to New Jersey Lisa attended the Willingboro school system and graduated from Willingboro High School. She furthered her education by earning a degree from Prince George Community College.
Lisa did not neglect her spiritual growth. She was baptized at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Burlington by the late Rev. Dr. Richard W. Jones. She exercised her faith as a teacher with the Pioneer Clubs, a youth-oriented bible study group. Her loving spirit was continually on display in all she did, even as she left New Jersey to reside in Maryland. She joined Bradburn Memorial Fellowship Church and became one of the trustees. When her employment transferred her back to New Jersey, she joined Agape Christian Fellowship in Burlington under the pastorate of Rev. Burt Merriman. Lisa volunteered time and financial aid to the Catholic school her daughter attended. Her love of this country was demonstrated by her six-year tour with the U. S. Army Reserves at Fort Dix and 28 years as a civil service employee.
Lisa married her loving and devoted husband Calvin. From this union came their precious daughter Jasmine, who is the apple of her parent’s eye. Of Lisa’s many interests, she loved to travel. Some of her excursions were to India, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Dubai, China and Cuba. She enjoyed movie matinees and attended numerous plays, particularly those written by August Wilson. Lisa’s energy was inexhaustible when enjoying her five-mile walks.
Lisa’s departure will leave a deep chasm in the lives of her family that cannot be filled. The greatest emptiness will be felt by her husband Calvin, daughter Jasmine, step-son, Diron, as well as her father, Joseph and her siblings: Antoinette Walker (William), Rick Rodgers (Tanja), Gregory Strother (Barbara), and Victoria ‘Valdaye’ Berry. Lisa’s mother, Victoria and brother, Joseph III ‘Joey’ predeceased her. She will also be missed by a host of other relatives, friends, and co-workers.
