Obituary of Bertha Lee Hudson Young

Ms. Bertha Lee Hudson Young was born on August 11, 1943 to Eli Hudson and Bertha Jones in Marengo County, AL. She graduated from Marengo High School and received her college degree in Education from Glassboro State College (now Rowan University), Glassboro, NJ. Bertha was a gifted educator and served for 25 years teaching young people in the Camden City School District, Camden, NJ. After retiring from Veterans Memorial Family School in 2008, Bertha enjoyed shopping, watching her television shows like Maury and Married at First Sight, traveling, but most of all spending time with loved ones. Bertha passed away peacefully at her home in Lindenwold, NJ on February 16, 2021, after a brief illness. Bertha was predeceased by her mother Bertha Jones, father Eli Hudson, brothers Travis Hudson (Martha), Isaiah Hudson, and her sister Ruby Rogers (James). She is survived by her 3 children Kathryn Young, Sandra Young, and Bryant Feld, her sister Mamie Evans (Howard), her brother JT Hudson (Bernice), her special companion Albert Driggins, 4 grandchildren Dyral Feld, James Feld, Brandy Young-Byrd (Randy), and Morgan Feld, and a host of great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She was affectionately known as “Ms. Bert,” “Granny,” and “GG,” to children who she embraced as her own - JoAnn Feld (deceased), Sharon Feld, Angela Feld (deceased), Joseph Feld, Niecy Feld-Robinson, Venus Feld-Cooper, Tyrone Feld (deceased), Tyniquah Mullen, Majidah Brown, Jamal Brown, Latrika Morris, Latrenika Morris, Larenz Morris, Lafawn Taylor, as well as their children. Bertha will be fondly remembered by her family
