Obituary of Ronald Coleman

Please share a memory of Ronald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ronald Coleman, affectionately known as “Ron”, was born on April 4, 1954 to Mr. Arthur Coleman and Mrs. Arzulia Coleman in Woodbury, New Jersey. He was one of four sons. At an early age, Ronald and his brothers were taken to church every Sunday by their parents. They attended Bethel AME in Woodbury, New Jersey participating in Sunday School and other church activities. Ronald was educated in the Woodbury School System. He was a participant in many activities, and a leader at Woodbury High School as Drum Major. After graduation, Ronald joined the United States Army. He received his boot camp training in Fort Dix, New Jersey. His next assignment was in Germany. During his tour of duty in Germany, Ron was a part of the Tank Corp. Upon completion of his duties and serving his country, he was honorably discharged. Ronald returned home with aspirations of furthering his education; and enrolled in Gloucester County Community College. Ronald was united in holy matrimony to Geraldine Williams. He has two beautiful daughters, Rachonda and Monica, whom he dearly loved and cherished in a special place in his heart. He was employed by Mobile Oil Company, and Jack Cooper Trucking Company. Ronald had an outgoing and sociable personality; however, he was a no-nonsense, straight-to-the point kind of man. He was the grill master; he had a passion for cooking ribs on the grill. His brother called him, “The Rib Guy”. Ron loved spending time with his family; especially in his own yard where swimming, eating, and playing took place. He was also a sports enthusiast. His favorite team was the Eagles, and he watched college ball, too. However, none of those teams sparked his interest like the Birds. Ronald took pride in supporting and being there for his mother, Arzulia. Remembering the many challenges and sacrifices she made in taking care of his father, Arthur, during his illness, and death also raising four boys. With gratitude Ronald knew he had to be there for his mom, offering his love, help and support during her aging years. Ronald and his brother Leslie had a special bond of love, even though they did not agree on some issues, they showed mutual love, appreciation, and respect for one another. Cousins Andy and Bobby were a special part of the brotherhood. They took active interest in encouraging and being there for each other through thick and thin. In his later years, Ronald was encouraged by his older brother, Elder Alfredder Coleman through the scriptures. The encouragement included spiritual matters that dealt with the struggles of life and the refuge that we find in God and our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. During Ronald’s illness, he was always so appreciative of those who would pray for him and encourage him with the Word of God. Ronald Coleman departed this life on March 2, 2021 at Cambridge Senior and Rehabilitation Center in Moorestown, New Jersey. Ronald was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Coleman Sr.; his brothers, Arthur Coleman Jr., Elder Alfredder Coleman; his father-in-law, Ellis Williams; his brother-in-law, William Williams; and stepfather, Deacon Esau O’Neal. Ronald leaves to cherish his memories: his devoted wife, Geraldine Coleman; two daughters, Rachonda Coleman (Joshua) DiCamillo, Monica (Nathan) Johnson; seven grandchildren, Tynell Johnson, Tyree Johnson, Tyron Johnson, Tymire Johnson, Naszir West, Elecea Coleman, and Kaleb Bruno Coleman; 10 great-grandchildren; Mother, Arzulia O’Neal; one brother Leslie Coleman; Mother-in-Law, Geraldine Williams; two aunts, Olivia Anderson and Harrie Lee Coleman; three sisters-in-law, Mary (Gregory) Porter, Julia (Bernard) Clayton, Annie Coleman; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
