Obituary
Obituary of Larry Parker
Please share a memory of Larry to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Larry James Parker was born April 12, 1947, in Wilson, North Carolina to the late S.T. Parker and Irene Davis. Larry met his soulmate, Carol Little, and on June 24, 1984, they joined in Holy matrimony, creating a love story from thereon.
Larry furthered his education in Camden, New Jersey’s Night School program and received his High School Diploma where he was named the Valedictorian . He went on to work for National Freight for over 20 years as a truck driver, as well as Kinect Sheet Metal.
Larry and Carol had decided they no longer wanted to work for anyone else, they wanted to work for themselves, so they became owners of Absolute Maintenance Services and gave so many jobs to family members and people in their community. When Carol gained her wings in 2004, Larry decided to change the name of the business to honor his wife. The business name became Carol’s Janitorial, LLC.
Larry was a very loving and outgoing person. He always saw the good in every situation and maintained his optimism. Some would say he was the life of the party, but it was simply that Larry knew how to love his family and have a good time. He loved gathering with family and friends, especially his grandkids. He had such a heart for his grandkids and was always ready to play with them. Although Larry had 2 daughters of his own, he was a second father to James Parker, Pedro Santiago and Samuel Goodwin whom he called his sons.
On March 4th, 2021, Larry gained his wings, took flight and went home to be with the Lord and his other family members in Heaven.
Preceded in death by his mother, father, wife, 7 brothers and 4 sisters, Larry leaves behind to cherish his memory one sister: Bessie (Tom) Brooks; two daughters: Minister Mary Little and Michelle Little-Daniels; five grandchildren: Lamont (Kristin) Little, Lamar (Vaisha) Little, Sr., Tomisha (Tyrik, Sr.) Washington, Timothy Little, Breianna Little; twelve great-grandchildren: Javon Little, Lamar Little, Jr., Nia Little, Tyrik Washington, Jr., Robert Little, Arielle Little, Tiana Washington, Talia Washington, Tyson Washington, Tamia Washington, Chance Little and Darren Little; two sisters-in-law: Betty (Robert) Wallace and Angela (Steven) Green and a host of cousins, nieces, relatives and friends.
