Obituary of Floro V Trent
Please share a memory of Floro to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Floro Villabrille Trent was born on May 13, 1983 to Vivian Roberts and the late Saboto Trent in Willingboro, NJ at Rancocas Valley Hospital. He departed this life in the early morning of March 5, 2021, at Jefferson Hospital, Cherry Hill, NJ. Floro was his mother’s first-born child and his father’s first son. Floro’s dad chose the name, to reflect his mother’s family heritage and his own passion for the martial arts, after reading a book about Floro Villabrille, a famous Filipino martial artist.
Floro received his early education in the Edgewater Park School system and graduated from Cinnaminson High School in 2002. From eight years of age, Floro lived with his paternal grandparents, Deacon Richard Brown and the late Deaconess June Brown nee Thomas, in Cinnaminson, NJ. He was affectionately called “Hacksaw” by his grandfather, because of his love for wrestling. In his grandparents loving care, Floro was able to complete his education, build lasting friendships with neighbors and classmates from the area, while still maintaining a loving relationship with his mother and extended family on weekend visits. Floro was a well-respected young man, loving, kind, helpful and caring to others.
During weekends with his mother, extended family, and friends, Floro enjoyed being the big brother to his siblings and spending time with family on holiday’s, special occasions and family and church trips. Nick-named, “Flo” by his stepfather, Lionell West, he, always enjoyed debating about his favorite sports teams and soon became a fan of the Dallas Cowboys. As a child, Floro attended the House of God in Delran NJ with his family. He accepted Christ into his life and was baptized in July of 1996 by Bishop Franklin D. Washington Sr.
As an adult, Floro was employed by Riverview Estates in Palmyra, NJ where he worked for many years and formed lasting friendships with his co-workers. He was later employed by Sam’s Club in Delran, NJ and most recently, he worked at Quad Graphics in Westampton, NJ. Floro later joined Ezekial Baptist Church, in Philadelphia, PA and attended with his grandfather.
Floro was loved by family and friends and he learned to balance his love and attention with extended family, friends' coworkers, etc. He will be remembered for his kind and gentle nature, his dimpled and “cheesy” smile (the Flo face) and his love for his sports teams, mac and cheese, buffets, rode trips, hotel stays and friendly debates.
Floro was preceded in death by his father, Saboto Trent, maternal grandfather, Melvin N. Roberts, Sr., paternal grandmother, June Brown nee Thomas.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Vivian Roberts-West of Lindenwold, NJ, maternal grandmother Veneranda Dina Roberts, Washington Township, NJ, paternal grandfather, Richard E. Brown, Sr with whom he resided, stepfather, Lionell West, siblings, Tarrah Trent-Jones, Fayetteville, NC, Jordan West of Lindenwold, NJ, Janelle West of Lindenwold, NJ, Brent Gilliard-Trent, Willingboro, NJ, Lionell West-Chamberlain, Danville, VA., his aunts, uncles and cousins and host of relatives and friends.
