It's taken more than a year before I could write here about a friend that I continue to miss.
I cannot count the number of times I've wanted to call Ms. Jackson when driving in New Jersey or reading a book or watching something on the news. I want to hear her signature, "Gurrlll...let me tell you," followed by her laughter.
As much as I miss her, I am so thankful for the memories and the time we were able to spend working, laughing, and just enjoying life. The photo is from one of the last times I saw Anyta.
Rhana, Anyta, and I had a late lunch outside. We talked about Covid, politics, work, and our families. At some point, we noticed the colors on the river changing as the sunset. It looked like a rose gold foil painting being slowly revealed. The sight was so breathtakingly beautiful that we each tried to capture and share it. No photo did the beauty in front of us justice - so we stopped and just watched and shared this amazing moment. I am so thankful for that day and time.

Anyta was always a kind neighbor. We didn't see her overly often because of our different schedules, but when we did there was always a smile on her face and a wave if we were passing by. Deepest sympathies to her family.

I am shocked and saddened to learn of Anyta's passing. I had come upon a photo of her just last night, and she was on my mind. We had many conversations together at work, some very serious, some a lot of fun. She often made me laugh. She and her family will be in my thoughts, and in my prayers.

I'm so grateful for the afternoon Dawn and I spent with Anyta before Christmas. We ate fish sandwiches, laughed, caught up with one another, and enjoyed the quiet beauty of the lake and one another's company. It was the last time I saw Anyta, and such a happy memory. Anyta was so full of joy and love. You couldn't help but be happy in her presence. The world is darker in her absence. Anyta, we miss you terribly.

My heart grieves along with the family at the loss of such a special person and dear friend. I will carry with me the many fond memories of Anyta...the times of fellowship at Lighthouse, small group bible study and the other activities we were able to get her to when her work schedule allowed. Our time together was always filled with love and laughter. Rest In Peace sweet lady...you are already missed greatly!
