Obituary of Celeste Ann Brown
Please share a memory of Celeste to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Celeste A. Brown was born in Philadelphia on January 6, 1963, to the late Richard and Helen Brown. Les, as she was affectionately known to many, was the youngest of three children, brother Edward (Eddy) Brown and sister Rita Brown who preceded her in death.
Celeste opened her heart and accepted Jesus as her savior at an early age. Celeste was educated by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia School District. She met Jesse Lee Bell, very well known as Buddy, at an early age and from this loving union Richard and Demetrius Bell were born. Years later after Buddy transitioned, she met and found comfort with life partner and fiancé Michael L. Gaynor and from this loving union, Marcus Brown was born.
Celeste was employed as an Operations Supervisor at MV Transportation, worked at Paratransit an also a former dispatcher at Carey Limousine. After a lengthy battle with her health she had to retire early.
Celeste, was a loving, and caring, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, fiancé aunt, friend and confidant. Les never met a stranger, had a heart of pure gold, she wore her heart on her sleeve and would go out of her way to help others in need. This world has truly loss an angel.
Leaving to celebrate her life: loving partner fiancé Mike, son; Richard, Daughter—in- law Khalifa, son; Demetrius, daughter-in-law and Close friend; Ma’Shire (Shii), son; Marcus and grandchildren; Demetrius Jr, Malani, Delante, David, Aiden, Dylan, Niece: Audrey Fortson, Nephew: who preceded her in death Anthony Powell, her sister friend of 48 years, Felicia Edens and a host of family and friends.
