Obituary of Monique Averette
Please share a memory of Monique to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Monique Carmelita Averette known affectionately to family and friends as “Moe” or “Queenie” was born in Philadelphia, PA on April 25th, 1968 to Andrew and Carolyn Averette. She fell asleep in death on March 13, 2021 After fighting with Jehovah’s help to conquer Multiple Sclerosis which resulted from a drunk driver motor vehicle accident in 2000.
She was the oldest of 6 children which she leaves to cherish her memory. Angelique, Andrew, Michael, Jerica & Darius. Monique received her education at Camden County Technical Highschool studying agriculture. She later attended Rizzoli Hair-school later receiving her cosmetology license. She owned and operated multiple salons and various businesses. She was always working hard to perfect her craft. She was called the G.O.A.T. of hair to those she touched. She spent most of her life living in Clementon, New Jersey where she grew up.
Monique was a pleasure to be around. She never spoke negatively about anything because according to her, the was always a way out. She always was finding ways to improving herself while encouraging others to do the same. She put others first and even in the bed, she was a person who came up with plans to help others do better. She would share memories of her businesses and inspired others to live their dreams as well. Her family was important and anybody who was a good-hearted person would be considered her family as well. A person could say, " Moe, that's not for me", but she would counter it, giving her signature smirk. She loved her long nails, stating that they represented LIFE and refused to cut them. She would fight you! On Fridays, she would either order her chicken wrap or pizza and of course, her sun chips. She was excited to look up the benefits and fruits and
vegetables, having help of turning them into juice with her Ninja blender. She was a great counselor and friend no matter the physical state she was in. Her impact was bigger on the world than she knew.
Leaving to cherish her everlasting love and strength is her mother Carolyn, a loving sister's Angelique, & Jerica; brothers Andrew, Michael, & Darius and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
