Obituary of Cherie M Allen

Cherie Mo’nique Allen the daughter of Frances Ann Johnson and Kevin Sydney Johnson was born in Camden NJ on December 22, 1969. Cherie Mo’nique Allen was called home to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Saturday April 3rd, 2021. Cherie was a longtime resident of Lindenwold, NJ. Cherie was educated in Lawn side and Winslow school districts. Cherie graduated from Edgewood High School in 1988 and completed her associates degree in liberal arts at Camden County College. Cherie began working at the age of 16 with her first job at Best. Cherie worked many other jobs including Sears, Harrahs and PHH/STARS but none of them were her passion. Cherie and her husband became foster parents. Her love for children blessed her with being a foster parent for 9 years. Cherie took many children in order to help them at a time where they needed love the most. After closing her home for fostering Cherie began working with Community Treatment Solutions as a Behavioral Specialist. Cherie was finally doing the work she was passionate about and that was helping children. Cherie has left her loving mark on all the children that she has served.
Cherie was a lifelong AME. Cherie was a member of Mother Bethel AME Church in Philadelphia where she served on the Steward Board and Counting Committee. She also enjoyed singing with the choir. Cherie loved the Lord. She also loved her Church and her Church family.
Among her many interests were fostering children, listening to music, singing, watching her favorite shows, and watching her children and special babies grow.
Cherie leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband William; loving parents; Frances Ann Johnson, Kevin Sydney Johnson; loving daughter; Mikayla Antoinette Allen; sons Joshua Sydney Williams-Allen, Noah Thomas Allen; her beloved siblings Natina Antoinette Williams, Kahlua Morton, Demetrious Byrd, Aniyah Watson.; loving Grandmother, Natalie Williams; loving Aunt and Uncle, Carol Ritchards and Barry Davis as well as many aunts and uncles. Extended sisters Sonya Harris, Tuwana Gainer, Tranei Ritchards, Asha Ritchards. Godchildren Tuwan James-Kenneth Gainer, Damir Anthony Kelly, Kai Janei Banks, Tariq Gabriel Quashie. Special babies- Madison Tyler (maddie), Sharon Tyler (shay shay). She is preceded in death by her brother Kevin Johson Jr.; Grandfather Lorenzo Edward Williams; Grandmother Lillian Johnson and Grandfather Harold Johnson. She will also be remembered by many cousins as well as many friends that Cherie considered family. Cherie’s bright smile will always be remembered.
