Obituary of Lloyd A Elliot

Lloyd Adam Elliott was born July 01, 1945 to the late Nellie Elliott and Joe Davis in Blacksburg, South Carolina-Cherokee County. After several weeks in the Jefferson Hospital, Washington Twp., he transitioned from his earthly life on April 02, 2021 to his heavenly home that was prepared for him to be received of the LORD (John 14:3). Deacon Lloyd Elliott was living his life in Jesus Christ, for he loved the Lord and going to Church, he was always on time. He was appointed as acting head deacon by Pastor Dennis Clybourn. Deacon Elliott was in charge over the “Men’s Day Services” every second Sunday’s, whereas, he would give out the topic and made clear that the Bible scriptures were announced correctly. He was faithful to his work or any tasks given to him and performed them well. Also, at a time, Deacon Elliot was appointed the Sunday School Superintendent for the Greater Powerhouse District, Swedesboro, New Jersey under the leadership of Elder James Schwartz, Sr. and was his adjutant.
Deacon Lloyd’s education was in the North Carolina School system. After Camp High School, he joined the United States Armed Forces “The Army”, Fort Dix, New Jersey. Later, he received an honorable discharge. Moving on, from Jersey City, N.J. to Atlantic City, N.J. he got employment with the Seabreeze and Mutual Cab Companies. While driving the cab is when he pursued and met a beautiful, sweet, and caring young lady at that time named “Barbara Ann” who later became his loving wife now as Mrs. Barbara Travis-Elliott”, forty years of togetherness. Some other employments and hobbies of Deacon Elliott were – Bowling on a league, singing with the Gospel Choir Caravans of A.C., worked at Pacemaker and Egg Harbor boat companies. Moving on, he ventured out and into the Atlantic City Gaming Industries, licensed as a Craps Dealer working at Bally’s & Golden Nugget Casino’s and later promoted to Floor Supervisor for several years. Afterwards, Deacon Lloyd was offered a position at the Foxwood’s and Mohegan Sun Casino’s in Connecticut as a Craps Instructor and years later he retired. He didn’t stop there; he kept busy and became entrepreneur of Diamond Shine Auto Detailing & Car Wash in Blackwood, N.J., after that he got his CDL License and became a bus driver for the Hillman School Bus Company, West Berlin, N.J. until the unexpected departure. (Matt. 24:44), Deacon Lloyd A. Elliott was ready, his favorite words:
“Don’t give in, Don’t give out, Don’t give up!
Deacon Elliott is preceded in death by: two brothers, Robert & Wayne Elliott, his only sister, Brenda Elliott & his son Lloyd Anthony Elliott.
He leaves to cherish his memories: His loving wife, Barbara Travis-Elliott, Sicklerville, N.J., three daughters: Toniatte Hall,Blackwood, N.J., Rosalyn Curry, Mayslanding, N.J., Mona Elliott, Oklahoma,
step children: Dramaine,Chrystal, Kishon Travis, two brothers: Harry and Larry Elliott, North Carolina,
His grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
