Robert Lawrence Farmer Sr., son of the late Alice Miller Farmer and Robert Tunnell, was born on September 3rd 1961 in Camden, New Jersey.
Robert Sr. Is from Camden, NJ and
graduated with a with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Radio, TV and Film from Glassboro State College. He worked in the Camden City School district for 30 years in special education
also served as Camden Education Association President for 3 years. He was a member in the union as a building rep, 1st & 2nd VP, grievance and editor of CEA newsletter & Pride
committee.
Robert Sr. Started as a disk jockey in college at Glassboro State leading to a small radio station in Egg Harbor, NJ. He was a dj for over 30 years. He loved being a DJ. In 2006 he founded the Farmer Boyz with his 2 son’s Robert Jr. and Halston. They
preformed positive hip-hop music throughout the east coast. The Farmer Boyz had hits such as “See you go”, “Farmer Boyz” and “So Smoove.”
Robert’s favorite joy was being a baseball umpire in the Camden county area. Robert Sr. Was preceded in death by his siblings: Brenda, Angela, Cynthia, James, Richard, Gregory and
DeHaven.
Robert Sr. Leaves to cherish his memory his sons: Robert
Lawrence Farmer Jr. and Halston Farmer. His daughter Dianna Robinson and granddaughter Na'Yae Lockhart. His longtime girlfriend Sylvia Watkins. His brothers: Charles, William and David. His sisters: Robin, Sockie, Bonnie, Lady and Denise. His nieces: Lakriecka, Rhonda, Angie, Denise(Shonta), Violene(Heaven), Nina, Dina, Rashinda, Michelle, Celeste and Sadie. His nephews: Charles Jr., Ricky, Damian, Lamont and DeHaven Jr.(Man.) His sisters in-law: Lynette, & Virgina, his good friend Lisa Hardwick and a host of friends, relatives and extended
family.
