Obituary of Langdon Smith
Please share a memory of Langdon to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Langdon Clifton Smith was born on February 1, 1960, in Philadelphia, PA. He was the firstborn to the union of Norman and Juanita Owens Smith. Langdon was affectionally known as Hodge.
Langdon was educated in the Philadelphia school system and graduated in 1978. He was introduced to the Lord early in childhood. Langdon was baptized at the Holy Cross Baptist Church in the early 1970s. As a teen, he was a great swimmer and received multiple trophies and awards for his efforts. He also had a love for football. Langdon worked in the fast-food industry for many years.
Langdon was a modest person who always marched to the beat of his own drum. Although often reserved he was passionate about family. Langdon was not only athletic and a great swimmer, he was daring and willing to take chances even if it meant diving off the highest diving board. Langdon was known to wear his basketball shorts ready to play at any moment.
Langdon met and married his wife Jessica Smith who preceded him in death.
His face was free of all pain and suffering at the thought of going home to Jesus. He maintained his love for the Lord until he departed and returned to the arms of his creator on July 8, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Victoria and Sheila, aunts, uncles, and wife Jessica.
To celebrate Langdon’s life and cherish his memory are his siblings: Angela, Daniel, Marie, Norman, Deborah, Andrea, Tanya; Aunt Lois, a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
