Obituary
Edward “Ed” Charles DuPont was born to the late Edna Mae Nunn and Charles Edward DuPont in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on July 10, 1968.
Ed was one of six siblings: David Nunn, Angela Nunn, the late Anthony DuPont, Vercy “Lee” DuPont, and Alphonso “Ty” Tyrone Dupont.
Ed attended Woodrow Wilson High School, propelling him into the careers of barbering, culinary, and custodial work. Ed will always be remembered for his work ethic, discipline, and independence. On any given day, one may catch Ed partaking in swimming, cooking, eating some good ole soul food, playing basketball, or singing boastfully to one of his favorite songs.
The family will continue to reminisce about the warm
energy Ed emanated when greeting a room and the fun nature he gifted to any event he attended. Regardless of the life stressors, Ed remained upbeat and joyous. His loving, approachable, humorous, and caring spirit will live on in our hearts and memories.
Today, we mourn the loss of a very special person. Ed, we all love and cherish you forever. You will be overwhelmingly missed, and the impact you had on all our lives will transcend your lifetime. For that, we are grateful and blessed that God gifted you in our lives.
Ed is survived by three children: Chanel, Jermaine Funches, and Ciara Gallon, seven grandchildren: Azailah Funches(15), Idris Funches(11), Emory Hatch (6) Sanai Funches (3), Lennex Funches and London Funches (1 ½ months twins), his sisters-in-law: Melissa DuPont and Ava Nunn, nieces and nephews, and the rest of his loving family and friends.
Lovingly Submitted, The Family
