Obituary of Rosetta Morris

Rosetta Morris, affectionately called Rose, was born on December 13, 1944 to Rudolph and Willa Mae Shelton at Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia. Pa. Rose was the oldest of her siblings Rudolph Shelton (Junior) Marcella Dausuel
Rose graduated from William Penn High School in Philadelphia, then attended business school. After schooling, Rose planted her roots in New Jersey where she raised her children. Crystal, Darnell, Michael, Troy, and Takima Morris. Rose was gainfully employed by the Camden City board of Education where she worked as a special education reading assistant to youth at Camden High and Woodrow Wilson High Schools.
Rose was a great mother, and a kind loving person who had a passion for helping youth and children. Rose was known for being young at heart who was very active in community service and volunteering. Rose volunteered with the Foster Grandparents Program where she worked at The El Cinco Day Care as a teaching assistant, and helped many parents and children doing parent workshops and events. Rose also loved volunteering at clothing shelters and thrift stores where she organized programs to give away clothing to all who were in need. In addition. Rose mentored Gods Gifted Girls of New Mickle Baptist Church where she mentored teens about the love of Christ.
Rose Loved Jesus Christ and she was a devoted Christian. Rose attended New Mickle Baptist Church faithfully for over 45 years and she was Baptized in the Isabell Miller swimming pool. Rose church family blended into her family. Rose was loved by so many, and had a host of friends. Rose favorite saying was “let me know what I can do, and I help where I’m needed.” Rose was very supportive of her friends and family she loved traveling, gospel events and plays. Most of all she loved attending church and being surrounded by her family and friends.
Rose leaves to mourn her siblings Rudolph Junior Shelton, (Janet Outlaw) Marcella Dausuel, her children, Crystal, Darnell his wife Kaprena, Michael, Troy, and TaKima, her grandchildren Rakeem, Nyjee, Darnell jr , Kardell, Marnell, Syren, Diamond, Dahmir, Larry jr, Takima , Ethan, Aiden. Her Great grandchild Raquel. Her Nieces and Nephews Gregory, Marc , Felicity, Shaneeia, Shanayia and a host of many more. Her Great nieces and Nephews Justice, True Legacy, Hero, Brave her God children Sade Jenkins-Bethea, el, Terrica Wheeler, and Sean Two very special close friends for over 50 years Minnie Wheeler, and Alice Davis her adopted sister and brother Gail Branch and Stephen Jenkins. She is preceded by her infant son Peter Morris
