Betty Waitman
Today and every day we celebrate the joyous life of Betty Jean Waitman. Betty was born in Saint Augustine, Florida on April 4, 1943, and passed on October 7, 2021. She was the second eldest to the late Charlie Mae Rodgers and Oliver George Waitman. Betty’s siblings include; Gregory, Diane, and Carol Waitman (Predeceased), Oliver Waitman (deceased), Michael Waitman (Joy Whaley), Joseph Waitman (deceased), Barbara Fussell, Jamal Waitman, Reginald Waitman (m. April Waitman), Sharon Smith (m. Sterling Smith), Tanya Waitman (Bryant Fuller), Bridgette
Littlepage (m. Lynn Littlepage), and Gail Waitman (Lee Brown).
She raised and supported four marvelous children, Keith Ross (m. Laryce Ross), Regina Ross, Adrienne Thornton (m. Aaron Thornton), Andre Ross (m. Romona Ross), and three honorary children, Sinclair Powell, Aloha Brown, and Samuel Johnson. She was the proud grandmother of Keith Arline, Kierra Ross, Riley Ross, Aaron Thornton, Jr., Rikki Ross, and her fur grandbaby Kaa Ross. She was cherished and loved by a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Betty left an outstanding and lasting
impression on her entire family and friends as well.
One thing many can say about Betty Waitman is that she was a strong-minded individual. She was especially outspoken and driven when it came to her family. Betty had the honor of attending and graduating from R.J Murray High School in Saint Augustine, Florida in 1961. In 2008, she retired from Cooper River Convalescent Center as an LPN after 30 years of service. Besides spending time with her family and friends, Betty enjoyed traveling to places such as Paraguay and even Cancun. One of her favorite hobbies was heading down to Atlantic City to hit up the Showboat casino.
Something that everyone can agree with is that in the end, Betty touched many lives with her generosity and passion for life.
