Obituary of Shari M Walker-Hunt

Sister Shari Michelle Walker-Hunt, a native of Baltimore, Maryland, was born on July 19, 1965, and departed this earthly life on October 5, 2021 at 1:30 am at the Samaritan Center, Voorhees, New Jersey.
Shari was the second born to Francis and Jean Walker. She matriculated through Milford Mill High School in Baltimore, Maryland. She went on to study at Towson State University where she received her B.S. degree in Communication. She also completed two years of graduate studies at the University of Maryland.
Shari worked for the State of New Jersey in the field of Workforce Development and also a host of other jobs within the state. She later retired after 27 years of dedicated and loyal service to the Department and State.
Sister Shari began her lifelong Christian walk with the Lord at Mount Hebron Church Of God In Christ under the leadership of Superintendent Henry B. Hunt. Sister Shari was always working in the church. Whatever her hands found to do she did it willingly. During a church function she met the love of her life Brother Norman Hunt. Their first date was at the Maryland Convocation for the Church Of God In Christ. They were married August 24, 1991. To this union one beautiful son was born, Connor.
Sis. Walker- Hunt was a member of Greater Bryant’s Temple, which was later renamed Healing Wings Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ, under the leadership of the late Bishop Curley Guidry for 19 years. She served as the Radio Announcer, Sunday Teacher, Church Secretary and other positions in the church. Later, Elder Norman and Sis. Shari Hunt moved their membership to Tabernacle of Faith Church Of God In Christ in Camden, New Jersey under the leadership of the late Bishop Hillmon Moses and now Senior Pastor Thomas May and Bishop Tyrone McCombs. Sis. Walker-Hunt served as a faithful member, an Elder’s Wife, Women’s Department Member and was known for her beautiful and creative writing in her tributes, papers and poetic words. She served as the loyal and dedicated Sunday School Superintendent.
Left to cherish her memory and legacy is her husband Elder Norman Hunt, son Connor N. Hunt, her Father, Deacon Francis Walker, her Mother, Evangelist Jean Walker, her sisters Debra Jeanette Walker, Kristal Gross, her brother Marcus G Walker and his wife Kay Walker. A host of Aunts and Uncles, Sister and Brother in laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives, her dear friends, her church family Tabernacle of Faith and Healing Wings Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ.
